Definately Hal Jordan. Granted he was an update from Alan Scott, who was great and still unique even today, but Hal Jordan took the title and the imaginations of a generation in a new direction that has yet to be equaled by any other character to hold the name of Green Lantern. With the completion of the Green Lantern/Hal Jordan story arc it mirrors the whole hero quest from accepting the ring through doubt and training to wonderous deeds betrayal and redemption before he died. There is no parallel of equal. To quote Tom Kalmaku, "What a change. The most helpless guy in the world charges a tiny ring and he is coursing with new energy until he is in a class only Superman can touch." GL vol.2#74

ya hal jordan normal guy until that ring came along he's cool but he can't fight against yellow that's the only thing I don't like about him but overall he's a super hero and a super guy
