Media Airing of Iraq Prison Abuses

Jun 7, 2004 10:59 PM
Hello-

I cannot tell you the anger I felt when the media broke the story of the prison abuses. I don't condone what was done, and certainly hope that our military reins in such abuses, but to broadcast these images puts our fighting men and women at risk. I think it cost poor Nick Berg his life.

The liberal media, especially the New York Times and their ilk, always claim to be looking out for us but they really only care about the bottom line and their agenda - and the safety of our troops be damned!

Back when this nation had more of a conscience, we'd have called their actions what they are: Treason!

I for one long for a return to journalism with integrity, the kind Ernie Pyle and his colleagues used to do. There are still a few of those type left, but they seem to be outnumbered by the ones who care only for scoring a big story and making their next payment on their fancy car. What a shame!
