Dear History members: In February, 2010, History boards will begin the process of upgrading our community message board software. We are moving to a new community software, KickApps, that will provide greater functionality and ease of use. This transition will take place during the last part of February; the last day that the current boards will be available to you will be Feb. 28, 2010. We realize that many of you have posted great content over the years and might want to save your posts. Please take this time to go back through the boards and save what you want to keep on your own computer. These boards will no longer be accessible after February 28, 2010. If you would like to ask a question about the new boards, click here: http://boards.history.com/forum/Message-Boards-User/108 There will be more details to come as we roll out the new community software. Thank you for your continued patronage. We'll see you on the new, improved boards! Rebecca Cooper AETN Community Manager

What is the problem? Ted isn't "hip" enough? Kevin looks like some guy you would meet at an Emo show. If you agree that UFO Hunters should bring back Ted and the voice over dude, reply to this post and lets start a petition.

I've torn up the internet and can't find anything about Ted leaving the show. No explanation or anything, just " here's the new dude I have to win over". Bad blood? Drama? No info is around.

Okay, I've sorta found out what happened to Ted. Seems he started a new business combining art and science called "Artaic", with himself as the CEO. His resume that I found has his employment with UFO Hunters ending in January 2009. Aside from that, it just appears that he struck out on his own. He has one helluva resume, and appears to be well on his way to good things. With that, I could find no drama or whining, no blogs filled with complaints, etc. Here I was thinking that it was like all the usual Hollywood drama crap, but really it just looks like he has moved onto bigger and better things. Good Luck Ted!!!!!!

I can't find any info on either the experiments' guy or the voice over narrator. I guess they were expendable. Cost cutting? Seems en vogue these days...

I miss TED! So far, I'm not fond of Kevin, but will give him some more time. Now that I know from the other posts that Ted left happily and there's no bad blood, it seems like the producers went in another direction with 'Kevin". Meaning that he seems to be more confrontational, especially with Bill and will ALWAYS be a skeptic (like my husband). This will bring in the viewers who like drama and the ones who like being able to say, "see Kevin has another explanation for what's going on; it's not all ufos". But like I said, if Kevin rubs me the wrong way too many more times, then I won't watch anymore, so they will be losing at least 1 viewer that watched from the beginning. And I might not be the only one that they lose.

Well Im going to tell It like it is... Kevin? Im mean come on! Is this the producers son?? Out of all the people in the whole UFO community, they pick a guy that could not fill Ted's front shirt pocket! My name is Kevin also? Maybe they should have placed myself on the show?? This show has officially jumped the shark! Oh yeah! Where is the narrator??? Now back to Kevin, you know what? Forget it! Bring back Ted!

LOL. Yeah, I agree 100%. The weird thing is I went to high school with a Kevin Cook from Philly, maybe that's him. I'll have to do some snooping. I'm disappointed about Ted, but something tells me he's not looking back. I do believe though, they are in desperate need of someone very analytical. The show kind of reminded me of a chicken with its head cut off last night, directionless. If you're going to bring in a skeptic, fine. But come on. I mean, when they flew that plane and looked at bill and said he was hoping it would fail? How is that not biased??? -- Currently reading Ray Bradbury's "Martian Chronicles"...again

This is BULL****, this new guy SUKS. I dont care, I will straight out say what everyone else is thinking. They are ruining the show. BRING BACK TED, and yes voiceover guy as well. Kevin is LAME, "mech ENG" WHO CARES, Ted was way better. You will lose viewers over this. Trust me, i know you will. Kevin is bad for this show. he is very unlikeable and honestly i hope he gets abducted by a ufo.

I am very sorry, but I guy that is trying to take over Ted's place is very disappointing. He does not even meet the standard. My apologies to the new guy, but it is the TRUTH. Also, the show was all over the place with little direction. No wonder the E.T.'s do not have a worry in world when it comes to the humans. Maybe the humans should just raise their hands up and say, "We give up".. I've been watching the Hunters since the beginning, but if it is going to be as painful as last night, I will probably stop the pain. Take care my fellow Hunters.

Needless to say, I was surprised and disappointed to see Ted Acworth gone---he lent the show extra credibility needed to make this field more valid and worth of study- I enjoy Bill and Pat--but the new man-Kevin- is so wrong for this show--his attitude is just so very annoying--nothing against him--he is just so wrong for the show. And Bill Birnes' tangent on time-travel etc was strange--the show had no direction and turned ridiculous- Mark my words, the show is going to lose viewers--regretfully probably starting with myself if this course continues--Bring back Ted or his equal! Oh! and the narrartor--bring him back as well!!

Maybe Season 3 episode1 should have been titled ?Resurrection and Revelation.? It did seem to bring back some of the worst aspects of Season 1. This episode revealed the team no longer includes a functional scientist ? the field work killed some air time and manufactured an impression as much as it investigated any hypothesis in a meaningful manner. Either Kevin did not contribute to the basic design strategy underlining these studies, or worse, is woefully out of his league scientifically. The hypothesis of a gold-UFO link is itself questionable, but the investigatory method employed to gather and analyze the data was pathetic. How was this gold mine picked as a study site? Is it some sort of hotspot for sightings or something else entirely? Unless you have evidence linking that mine to UFOs, all the data you gather literally correlates to nothing because nothing happened there. Incredibly, Pat and Kevin never looked for the gold in the gold mine, instead they quantified radioactivity (Geiger counter-detectable events only) and magnetism. The effort was not productive. In fact there is little way it could be. To make a case for a gold-magnetism-radioactivity-UFO link in a scientifically valid manner demands more than one-time measurements at a single site and even then the best you can hope to demonstrate by systematically investigating many locations and events is a correlation. And you will never get to the heart of the matter if you measure everything except the amount of gold on site. But, there is an even better question and far simpler methods pertaining to the gold-UFO hypothesis ? if the attraction is gold, why hike into the woods to a remote gold mine? If the hypothesis is correct, there must be gold near the condo where Pat and the witnesses filmed the triangle, why not wander around the area with a metal detector and just find that mother lode? Better yet, set up a camera outside Fort Knox which ought to be inundated with gold-seeking triangular craft. Far superior to conducting ?experiments? at best only tangentially related to the central question that lack both meaningful controls and replication. I think the producers revealed much more than they ever intended in this episode. It was quite a revelation to find that neither Pat nor Kevin is familiar with the night sky, a seemingly key skill for ufologists conducting nighttime investigations. Uncertain of the stars they were observing (at a time when very easy-to-recognize constellations like Orion were obviously visible on camera) as well as the speed of rotation of our planet, they had to rely on an electronic device to identify the first magnitude star Pollux. But, they really did not seem to have much astronomy knowledge and if that device was used improperly or had incorrectly identified the star as, for example, Antares (not visible at the same time as Orion), they would have scant prospect of recognizing their error. If you are going to separate fact from fallacy, step one is to get people out in the field who actually know what they are doing. Kevin was not able to counterbalance Bill Birnes fantastic assertions of time travel or challenge the factual basis of the evidence constituting ?proof? of some of his frankly outrageous hypotheses. For those viewers seeking evidence-based investigations, Season 3 may be long and hard to tolerate. Absent an effective scientist/honest broker, this series may proceed to quickly ravage its own credibility. Farewell in your new endeavor, Dr. Acworth.
