Bring back Dr. Ted Acworth!

Apr 10, 2009 2:12 PM
I know there have been other threads with this title, but this is the first one to spell his name correctly. Post "aye" or "nay."

I think the scientific process he brought to the show is missing and needs to return. It's what distinguished UFO Hunters from other programming. The other guys were great but they don't do what Dr. Ted did.

Nay.
Apparently he choose to leave, and that's his decision to make.

Watch out, CVille, I've noticed believers, when they run out of excuses, try to point their fingures at typos....It seems to be their most common rebuttle.

niet,

AND I've noticed...that G-men with agends...when cornered by the truth, will either ignore, or ridicule..or simply low down outright lie to muddy the waters....and pass out manipulated facts like Halloween candy.....PLEASE

I made one such typo.

I saw that someone found he had a new endeavor, but I haven't seen any reference to him choosing to leave the show. If this is the case, then that's that. I just don't know that it is.

It seems like he just unceremoniously disappeared, he's not even on the web page anymore. No goodbye good luck or anything, just disappeared and replaced all Orwellian like. Okay, thats an exaggeration but it still seemed strange & sudden. I'd love to know what happened.

The show stinks. They never have figured ANYTHING out and they have no respect for their audience. What so ever. Ted was probably the only real person on the show. i got sick of watching them recreate stuff a long time ago. Phoenix lights? Aerial flares. let me remind you about something now more than ever. The commercials are the show. Not the program. And it get's worse everyday.

Saying the Phoenix lights is aerial flares is a bit lacking. Considering that there are thousands of sightings of an "immense black triangle" from across the state of Arizona that can be tracked with such accuracy that you can actually follow the things path across state on that night shows that there is something else going on besides flares... unless flares slowly cross an entire state over the course of several hours while blocking out the stars. Yes, flares were dropped that night. No, that explanation does not nearly begin to cover the events that night witnessed by thousands of people, including several military witnesses who know what flares look like. Try again.
And I think you're being a little hard on the show... I really think these guys are trying, but we have to remember that in the end it's largely speculative entertainment. That being said, I think that they qualify as one of the best shows on the subject to date, which, unfortunately, isn't saying much. Most shows put Michael Schermer on and he says something like "night terrors explain the entire gamut of the UFO phenomenon" and they leave it at that. Makes me so angry..... Grrrrr!

Don't forget the digital animations they stick in once and a while--that's what a lot of people go for...that's how we get new sightings of new objects in the skies from new unreliable witnesses.

There's also one, often overlooked witness. He was the only one to have actually looked at it through a telescope. He says it was just planes. But he's also been ignored.

Wasn't he at a town meeting when he said that? As soon as he said it, the whole room went in an uproar because it challenged their preconcieved notion that it was aliens or a government conspiracy.

I've heard that.
He's in newspaper articles and named.
Funniest arguement I heard was he couldn't be considered reliable because he was young. He's 25.
Just another of those people not telling the poster what he wanted to hear.
