I think you're making the assumtion that the gov't would not lie about anything. I can't believe you actually swallow that crap. It's a disk... oops it's a balloon. I am not even saying anything about other witnesses here. Hypothethically speaking, if there were no other witnesses and the military still said there was a disk and then changed their story, what then? Oh, I am sure Don would believe it. Don it would be almost like you finding a car in the desert and then saying nope, it was a balloon that looked like a metal car. Are you getting this at all? I don't care about the supposed witnesses here. THE U.S. MILITARY COULD NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A METALLIC DISK AND A BALLOON? Disk.....balloon. Disk...balloon. Hold a picture up of each and see if you can see any differences. No... go ahead... give it a try. AND it was released to the press from the military. Then the next day, silly us it was a balloon. See, here are the pictures of our TOP SECRET project to prove it. PR fodder.

You may be right there Kim. I never said it was aliens either. I just know we are being lied to. It's obvious something is being covered up.

If you look at some of the old research and development footage of the USAF you will see lenticular or disk shaped vehicles. I think one of these projects probably crashed in the area in question and someone leaked it to the press. The balloon story was obviously used for damage control. I think the military just wanted to forget about it because at the time it wasn't that big of a deal. What stinks is that now they should have no problem telling us what the original crash site was, but they still give us the Project Mogul story which doesn't seem to add up. Now that the government has stood by the Project Mogul story, they can never admit to a lie or cover-up that's gone this long. I don't think they are hiding aliens - I think they're just trying to save face.

Occam's Razor: Again, you people are using the term wrong, it says look to the simplest explanation 1st. If that doesn't add up go to the nest easiest, and so on. Stop trying to use the term to bring people to your side of the point. or use it correctly. Thank You Karen

oh of course, i mean there are so many lies coming from the government that we are best not to take their word for anything, even that the sky is blue. The funniest thing i find is with all those great minds they have working for them they still make all those contradictions and change their minds so many times. Even if the government does know there are aliens here it will be beyond our lifetime before anyone hears of it.

We obviously all agree that the govt lies. The issue here is that lower level military issued a statement that seems fantastic but straightforward. Then the next day the story is changed and material is brought in that any nine year old of the time would recognize as terrestrial. If you knew nothing else. Nothing else. You'd be left wondering what happened to the disk? How could any adult, let alone a military intelligence officer and presumably a superior or two get a DISK from bits of readily available foil, sticks and rubber? That is if you are objective. Those questions have never been answered to any reasonable satisfaction.

And as far as Project Mogul being brought up decades later as an excuse. It was a joke then and it is a bigger joke now.

Why? Why is it harder to believe that it was a balloon, then that it was an alien spaceship? > And as far as Project Mogul being brought up decades > later as an excuse. It was a joke then and it is a > bigger joke now. -- Bringing reality, reason and logic to your day. If you like it or not.

I think my previous comment has already answered your question. A. I didn't claim it to be an alien craft, the military did. B. Then they come up with the Ace hardware balloon bits, next day. Project Mogul had as much chance of hearing a nuke test in the Soviet Union as a domestic dispute in Hawaii. We had seismometers at the time. How would you get a fix on an audio signal from a single balloon in an active atmosphere in New Mexico? The project lasted 2 years? The military doesn't project and build a latrine in less than 3. It was a joke. Just like program "Drop a Dummie on its head" was and used to explain the bodies claims.

You may want to look into Mogul. I think the papers it was based on are available to read. > I think my previous comment has already answered your > question. A. What all of you would find interesting is the actual list of materials used in the short lived Mogul program. The dates of releases and recoveries in addition to the total mass of such a balloon. It wouldn't take too much to see this very notion is preposterous. One doesn't need to be a meteorologist to be able to identify a weather balloon. People in these areas not just ranchers and airmen who encountered these thing regularly but common folk were also accustom to weather balloons and more certainly the material comprising a Mogul balloon or any other such devise.

I would like to see the Mogul Project revisited with Bill Nye being lifted into the upper atmosphere with a digital recorder. I could see the value of that.
