So you understand he's an intelligence officer.
NOT a meterology officer.
NOT a radar officer.
As for that picture.
For a long time he cliamed it was exactly what he had picked up. Then it was shown to be the same as a weather balloon, and he changed his story. Again.

I think we didn't intend them to go anywhere. Just up, listen, and then down. We did have a program of sending balloons with cameras over the Soviet Union, but it didn't last long.

The fun part about all this secret program business is that we only know about the programs from that era that were freely disclosed by the government. If you look at some of these programs, including project Mogul, they were extremely CHEAP to operate. There were numerous test programs being conducted at this point in time.
My belief is that the debris found at Roswell may have been a disk, but it was un unpowered re-entry vehicle test that was erroneously leaked to the press, and then they tried to cover up the mistake.
Please note that I did not use the word "alien" in any of my statements.

Don't forget that when all the hubbub about seeing little aliens it was only then that they came up with the "Oh those were our dummies we dropped from high altitude, they were mistaken for aliens" That happened decades later. This was the 3rd change to the story from OUR government. Besides, why would they release pictures of a top secret weather balloon anyway. It was just a ploy. You see now...not a flying disk, just these top secret balloon parts which look nothing like a flying disk so why would that story have been released by the military from the start. The balloon story was released and it was their hope that the whole thing would just blow over and would be forgotten in a few days. Which is what typically happens in human nature.

That always mystifies me.
People say the government had all these different stories. But let's be honest about it. They announced a flying disk, and then announced that was a mistake, in 1947. Almost half a century later, they say that maybe people are confusing test dummies with the alien bodies some people report. Half a century.
Yet for thirty years after 47 there was almost nothing about this, right up until Marcel sold Friedman that bridge. Then people come out of the woodwork. The "My uncle was there, and wrote a journal, which I've hand copied and then burned." or the "I was two but remember it clearly." or "I know a guy that knew a guy that told me a story.", and again and again proven to be haoxes. And then you get book after book, different landing sites, different days, different details, and all from the same authors. Yet there's no criticism for the constant changing story, and that just doesn't make sense to me.

Don you keep bringing this up and I keep responding. Yes, there have been a few versions of material, what happened etc. by different witnesses, and I would expect that from individuals, but the Army's declaration that they had found a DISK, then the turnaround to weatherballoon the very next day, IMO is the most unexplainable change of story. Military releases are usually not done without superior officers signing off. If there was a true argument between military on the scene, or much question, why would the military release such an amazing claim? That is a big question that has only become more compelling due to Haut's confession, Marcel's turn around.
I don't like the contradictions between individuals, but I understand them. I don't understand how or why the military would release such an amazing claim unless they were fairly certain about what they were claiming.

I think your making the assumption that the people in the military don't make mistakes.
People just never seem to ask the question "Does this person making this claim have any ulterior motive?". Haut was part owner of a UFO museum in Roswell, Marcel lied repeatedly about things in his record. And neither could even agree on who wrote it.

Roswell was wake-up call for the military. They made a mistake, the story leaked and they've spent the last 60 years denying it. Actually, they're stance is to just keep mum and that just further implicates them. Lying 101: you don't go from "UFO Disk Crash" to "Weather Balloon". Heck, their lie would be much easier to choke down if they had just told us that it was a new test plane that had crashed.

Folks, Roswell was simply a mistake made by the military in which a classified program was compromised, and then a cover story was issued to patch up the problem. Get over it. Just because a disk was mentioned does not mean that aliens were involved.
Now, if the military had said "we found a disk spaceship full of dead aliens" and then the next day said "It was just a weather balloon", there would be a basis for all the hype about aliens.
But that's NOT what transpired years ago.

i dont think it was a weather baloon but certainly not aliens either, i think more likely a man made top secret plane or some kind of spy device which failed.

Below is the best comment i've read here on this topic.. thank you whoever wrote it. I agree. I believe in ETs but what landed in Roswell was a balloon.. I've seen enough hard evidence for it. This doesn't deny the idea that there were maybe other crashes in the Roswell area that were real craft from other planets.. but at least the one that has the spotlight on it.. with the eyewitness saying they say small dead bodies and figure they were dead aliens.. were in fact, dummies used in the secret gov experiments.
"I don' t know about you, but the Project Mogul explanation seems like the most likely explanation to me. Remember Occam's Razor: the explanation which makes the least assumptions is usually the best explanation. The explanation that it was an alien crash assumes quite a few things, none of which have been proven, so it really can't be put forth as the most likely explanation."

Not all these people saying pretty much the same thing...no way. That is as close to impossible as possible.
You don't have to be a meteoroligist to know what a weather balloon looks like. These folks in that area and at the base were use to them. They were also use to seeing Rawin Targets and knew what they were comprised of .
