what tom carey said was interesting that how could the 'Intellegence Office" could have mistaken a "FLYING DISK" with a "PLASTIC, RUBBER WEATHER BALLOON"?!
any idea??
(i know that bill nye said that it had micorphones and stuff but micorphones and radars are not made of memory metal like aluminum that can't bend.)

Yeah but just because he appeared general and uninformed on camera doesn't mean he didn't do some research on the Roswell case off-camera.

The military could have brought in material from a downed weather balloon and showed it to the public instead of what they actually picked up the night before. That could have been done very easily. Heck, they could have shown the public a toaster. Is there cold hard proof that they did that? Not that I'm aware of. It's the releasing the flying DISK report to the public after having seen and examined the material, that is what still weebles my wobble. 1947 wasn't the dark ages. These men weren't drooling morons.

yyes but bill nye doesnt even know what went down at roswell. he's just an audience, he has nothing to do with this! heck i didnt even know he was still alive until i saw this.

BUT some of the Japanese ballon/bombs DID make it to the United States. This was proof positive that a theoretical plan can be put into action with some success. And Project Mogul was a theoretical plan that the United States was putting into action, so who's to say that some of our Mogul balloons and listening equipment didn't make it to a foreign land?

I was the one to bring up the bombing balloons, point being if they knew there where bombs up there....would it be a good ideal for them to put our own up and risk them hitting each other?
As far as I remember, The Guy that 1st reported it said (the disk, weather balloon) said later that was not what he was photographed with at the time.
They changed the stuff around, it wasn't what he saw 1st. As far as changing story later. He was a military man. Does what he is told, decided's later he wants the true out there, come clean.

No way an Intellegence Officer, a Major, would make
that mistake. Say what you will, the stuff Major Marcel is holding could never be mistaken for a disk.
I always thought in that picture, the look on his face is one of "Is this what you want me to do?"

"We recovered a disk" to "Silly us, it was just a balloon".
With all our training, and having just come out of a war, we couldn't tell the difference, oops.
