Astronaut Confessions

Nov 6, 2009 10:15 PM
I believe that if we could somehow convince a few astronauts to talk the world would get a great deal of the U.F.O. mystery put into light. By a coincidence I was lucky enough to run into a person who helped run the shuttle program. The conversation started innocent enough,I asked him if he could get me shuttle mission patches like the ones he was sporting on the back of his jacket. On our second meeting he brought me three patches which I was thrilled with. I casually joked if NASA had a problem with traffic control up in space with all the aliens flying around. His response was not what I expected. He explained what I had asked was no joke and that NASA had a special encryped radio frequency that astronauts would use when alien craft got to close to the shuttle. There is a huge veil of secrecy that prevents astronauts from talking on this subject and as some now are getting older there has to be some that want to come clean. Split Infinity

God bless Edgar Mitchell!

That's why I believe the public isn't ready. If many of them just brush off the testimony of an astronaut, then they are already solidified in their opinion.

Yeah, but understandable. Irrational parts of the human psyche wants to hold on to what is known, regardless of the evidence stacked up against it.

But if one person has an opinion that hundreds of other people of the same caliber do not share... Wouldn't that "stack" it the other way? Wouldn't that mean that the opinion is in fact stacked towards the majority? How can the opinion or belief of one person cancel the opinions of hundreds? People can't just casually dismiss the opinions of hundreds with assumptions of conspiracy. I've numerous times had people tell me that you can't just call individuals who make claims liars. Well, doesn't that work the same way when you're going the opposite direction? If hundreds of people of the same caliber do not share the belief of one or a handful of people... The only conclusion would be that they are lying. So wouldn't you have to be calling hundreds, if not thousands of people liars, just to vindicate the beliefs of those few people? How is it more acceptable to shoot down the claims or beliefs of hundreds, or even thousands, but it's not acceptable to shoot down the beliefs of a few?

DPD1, it's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact. Thousands of people can believe in the toothfairy while one person doesn't. Doesn't make the majority right.

Or an even more pertinent example...thousands believed the Earth was flat compared to a select, ridiculed few who believed the Earth was round. Was the majority right?

You know when I first saw a UFO, which is a little over a year ago or less, I also had to come to terms with my beliefs...I had a mini-meltdown, but I've since drawn the conclusion that it all fits together nicely. A person doesn't have to give up their religious beliefs, for example.

So majority opinion means nothing? It doesn't even increase the chances? I'm confused... How can the opinion of one man or a handful of people somehow hold more value, or be more credible, than the opinion of thousands... if neither can be proven one way or another?

Because it's just an "opinion" not a "fact." Plus, Astronauts, pilots, and military professionals' testimony hold more sway.

Right... Just like it would just be the opinion of the few against the opinions of the many. But I was under the impression that the opinion of one was being taken as fact in this particular case, and the opinion of the many was being ignored. Or did I not understand the comments.
