First,Lucy was a woman now Aria. When Lucy was discovered, it was made fun of. A woman who couldn't talk?

The answer is simple they only found females Ardipificas (Ardi) was a female but that dosent mean that all missing links are female.

All the males were out hunting when they died, probably eaten by carnivores. Females died back at camp, probably buried or hidden by the other females.
