Well this is my 1st post so...yea here i go idk but it feels as if some of you think that the celtic beliefs were more pagan then norse, or egyptian, or meso-american. becasue they are all equally pagan. some may be more or less earthy (like nature spirits to shamanism, to sophisticated hiararcys of gods&godess's with each one performing a specific task, or animism) soo yea idk where i was really going with this so im gonan end it now.

Hi All, And thank you for the kind welcome > Apnudd - are you a female? (It sounds so when you > call yourself a Witch instead of a warlock or wizard, Warlock is an oathbreaker and a Wizard is from Harry Potter. Both men and women can be Witches, it is not a female thing. A male Witch is a Witch A female Witch is a Witch Any titles given after that usually correspond to the type of Craft that they work. But usually Master/Magister for the male and Mistress for the female. In this context 'master' does not mean 'boss' it means one who has 'mastered' his art. And mistress has nothing to do with being a kept woman, but is used to denote a Lady who has mastered 'her' art. > but I could be mistaken here). hehe you are. >If you are a girl, wouldn't your name be 'VerchNudd' (daughter of Nud) instead of Ap(son of) Nudd? If I were female it may well be 'Verch' but I'm male through and through hehe Nudd (Nooth as in tooth) or as He's better known in West England -Nodens- is my Patron so that makes me a 'son' of Nudd hence the name. >If they don't differ do we have nothing to discuss? Haha no, then we can just sit on a cliff's edge and stare into outer space. But since I haven't yet found anyone who has the same opinions as mine (similar but not the same) I doubt that that problem will arise. >But keep in mind we Americans tend to be lump-sum-minded-sons-of-guns. Hahaha ya don't say! >Especially the youths. One may see a pentacle, one point up or two point up or on a tilt, a bon fire sing along, a vampyre cross & the youth would say 'I am with them', not even knowing who that 'them' are. Uhm, don't be so hard on yourselves, I've had the luck in my life to have traveled extensively around the globe, youths in this or any other country all suffer from the same malaise. >Are you with a coven? Not 'with' a coven exactly. >Does it have a focus? Yes it does >I met some Satanic witches some time ago, Usually cool ppl to party with 'hic' >"It runs in the family, but I am not a very good one." Mine too, the difference is that I am hehehe >They were a fun buch. Most witches are. >At times my witchiness sneaks out...it happens a lot when I am at the ocean, and get playful with the waves and wind. Ahhhhh one of the most sacred of all places for a Witch, the point where Earth, Wind and Sea meet. LOVE the oceanside. Sorry to have answered you all in one go, but it saves on space Health to you All Apnudd.

By not very good one, I mean, I don't unleash well. I hesitate to use power, which is something I am working to overcome. My upbringing was a traumatic example of what powers can be unleashed. When I work it is potent, but I do not work a lot because of that potency, if you get my drift here. My Mom was of the Oldest school where power did not have a conscinece, not black or white, just power. She wielded it without conscience as well when crossed. I spent most of my childhood working on protections and blocks. I do those very very well.lol So, you are from the Holy Isle eh? I have been there twice and know it as a home to paganism and witches. England still has its pagan heart, bless her. I would travel there more if I could afford it. Do you live in the west country, in the Lake district? Or are you more Dorset or Cornwall way? I am particularly fascinated by the Dorset Ooser. -- Goddesses rule! -- Edited by Lakota at 04/25/2008 7:38 AM

Hi Erictopia, The first question asked in the original post was: "I'm just curious as to how people feel about witchcraft and Pagan beliefs, mainly Wicca." > idk but it feels as if some of you think that the > celtic beliefs were more pagan then norse, or > egyptian, or meso-american. Witchcraft is a term usually used to define practices performed by British Witches (Sorciere in France, Strega in Italy) and Wicca is a British religion heavily influenced by Celtic mythology. With both types of British Celt being referenced to (Brythonic & Goidelic) in the original question I don't think you'll find much chatter on Thor, Horus or Ares. >becasue they are all equally pagan. No one denies that your other examples are pagan in orientation, but Britain usually = Celtic not Norse, Greek, Roman, Hun or any other. Hope this clears up a few things for you. Blessings of The Old 'uns, on You and Yours. Apnudd.

Hi Lakota, > By not very good one, I mean, I don't unleash well. I > hesitate to use power, which is something I am > working to overcome. Learning how to control any 'power' you may have is as important as it gets. Without control you may end up unleashing your energy/power on an unsuspecting victim who has done you no harm. (here I was thinking of a neighbors dog that died because my wife was in a bad mood) > My Mom was of the > Oldest school where power did not have a conscinece, > not black or white, just power. As a Witch all you are doing is 'tapping' into the power of the Earth (of Nature) and as we all know, a hurricane may be insane in its destructive force, but it is not an 'evil' or dark force it just 'is'. > So, you are from the Holy Isle eh? From Britain? Yes. > Do you live in the west country, in the Lake district? Raised and lived in Somerset (Glastonbury) most of my young life. Although I'm Welsh by birth and now I live in the US. Blessings of The Old 'uns on You and Yours. Apnudd.

Raised and lived in Somerset (Glastonbury) most of my young life. Although I'm Welsh by birth and now I live in the US I have made pilgrimage to Glastonbury, the Tor, the Holy Well , the Thorn tree. I have also journeyed in Wales. My Great Grand Dad was from Abergavenny. I had an interesting stay at Ruthin Castle. I found the mountains haunting and breathtaking. Somerset was wonderful as well, full of magic. I am currently involved in a debate on the History of Christianity board with an Atheist named Death of Religion. It is very difficult to explain magic to one who has no understanding of it and who denies its existance. The Thread is titled 'Eye of the Beholder'. Perhaps you would like to join in. A word of warning however. The Xtian board is rather rough, lots of anger and insults , better resembling a war zone at times.lol Blessings on you as well Nudd. -- Goddesses rule!

I was raised Christian, but when I got to be about 13 I started practicing witch craft for a few years. It wasn't until I became pregnant with my first daughter that Jesus came back into my life. I'm not saying that witch craft doesn't work... but I am saying that God says not to do it. You all are in my prayers! -- Though I may disagree with what you have to say... Save your prayers Rachel, for someone who needs them. If I had a daughter, I would teach her about the Goddess. -- Goddesses rule!

I have information for you regarding a friend. I don't as a rule make my email addy available to posters, because in the past I had some bad problems with one or two. Why the secrecy? Which friend? I feel I can trust you, it isn't that. It is just a rule I have and I won't break it unless I have to. -- Things are real only after one has learned to agree on their realness. (Don Juan Matus)

> I don't as a rule make my email addy available to > posters, because in the past I had some bad problems > with one or two. Lakota In the past if I had concerns about someone messing with my e-mail address, all I had to do was go to one of the sites like Yahoo or Hotmail that provides free e-mail addresses and set up another offsite e-mail address to use for those occasions where I could easily abandon the e-mail address if it became a problem. I have abandoned several of these type of e-mail addresses in the past when they became swamped with spam. I consider them to be disposable e-mail sites that I use in order to have communications without risking my main e-mail site. Besides, Yahoo and Hotmail automatically close the e-mail site anyway if it is not used for 30 days.
