That's Impossible: Real Terminators

In my opinion, the term robot is used incorrectly quite a few times in this show. The military tracked and flying vehicles at the beginning of the show are remotely operated, not robotic. A human is controlling them at all times and making all decisions. Even though the company that makes them calls them robots, they really aren't. Reasonable uses of robot implies autonomy, when these devices have none.

I'm not sure why the show presents autonomy as such a big controversy? There are autonomous mines that listen for a particular sound or feel for a particular weight and no human is involved in their decisions.

One last comment. I don't think that DARPA had any thing to do with SWORDS even though the show says that.

I agree. Additionally, it seems a long leap to worry about robots taking over the world. I think more likely, we (society) will ASK robots to take over - equally dangerous perhaps, but a much more probable transfiguration. We already are doing this - "google maps, what's the best way to get from A to B?"
