Just have to say this show breeds racism, hate, so I vote to have it removed. This is not the quality of show that belongs on the HC. It is pure sensationalism, not worthy.

I agree absolutely. I registered for these forums specifically for the purpose of saying the same thing after seeing the skinhead episode of this show. Skinheads are largely anti-racist or non racist as well. I have no objection to the show doing an episode about the skinhead gang culture, as long as it's accurate. Skinheads are not necessarily violent, though some are. Skinheads are not all racist, though some are. But the episode of gangland i just watched paints an image of a group of people, that are widely diverse in their social and political beliefs, as being nothing better then a bunch or dimwitted redneck racists. Point in standing, i request that this show either double check it's information and it's message and make sure it's accurate, or be canceled.

History Channel just identified all skinheads as racists on their gangland series about gangs in the military. As a history student, traditional skinhead, and former Marine, I would ask them, HC, to review all shows relating to any part of the skinhead culture to make sure that all skinheads are not portrayed as militaristic white supremacist and possibly do a documentary on skinhead culture since the media will not acknowledge the difference between the original skinhead movement and the nationalistic takeover and subsequent media attention given to these, nationalistic/white supremacist skinheads, over the original movement. It would make for a very informative and entertaining program.

The history channel should stop glorifying the gangs in this country with the gangland segment. This type of program makes the problem so much worse. All in the name of viewer ratings.

First off, how does this show glorify gang violence all in the name of ratings?
Secondly, how does this show feed racism when they've covered the Aryan Brotherhood and The Hammerfists?
Third, most Skinhead are Neo-Nazi organizations tied to the White Power movement.
Is this show a bit too realistic for you tastes? Does it hit home a bit too close?
You better wake up and open your eyes. MS-13, La Eme, the 1%ers(Hell's Angels, Mongols et all) and the brown on black violence in L.A. is real and it's a problem that isn't going away anytime soon. Just recently, a promising high school kid was shot and killed in L.A. by Mexican gang members.
This show exposes the problems and the gangs for what they are, yet the detractors want to sweep it under the rug and ignore it.
Keep this show going despite what the naysayers here think. It's a great show and a real eye opener!

Gangs and gang violence are a disease that is effecting society. Instead of showing us something everyone knows and saying "see, this is bad", do something about it. Put our Imperialist tendecies on hold, bring the military back home and hunt down and exterminate these violent thugs like the vermin they are. They are the cockroaches of society, and should be treated as such.

im sorry the reality of the streets is upsetting people
but you didnt have to live through it you didnt see the violence as our streets in chicago ran red with the blood of our friends and family. street gangs were a huge part of all of our lives and i believe this show to be accurate as it tells the story of the streets and the warriors yes warriors not criminals. the rest of you can sit in your safe nieghborhoods turning your faces to the poverty and desperation alot of us in this country had to overcome. when surviving is a daily chore. with that being said id like to recommend a story about the lords of lawndale also known as the almighty gaylords. the largest white gang in the country. thier story covers 4 decades as they fought off minority gangs to keep thier hood safe for all. its a great story and also the insane dueces how they began and how they are now growing
around the world one final statement while hollywood likes to glamourize LAs gangs the truth is chicago is now and has always been the street gang capital of the world

I thoroughly enjoy this series and record every one. You have to take all of it with a grain of salt, of course, but by and large it is both entertaining and informative.
I find it interesting that they do try to cover the history of each of the "gangs" they profile. I'm sure most of what they present is nothing more than the propoganda they get from various law-enforcement agencies, but some of the film footage and photos are amazing. Yes, some of it is gore-for-gore's sake, over-the-top ratings fluff, but I can live through that.
I have especially enjoyed the segments on the Hells Angels MC and the Outlaws MC. I would very much like to know if they plan to profile any other Motorcycle Clubs and if so, when? I have looked at upcoming episodes listings, but they only go out about two weeks, and it's all re-runs. Is there any way to find out, or anywhere to ask?

they show most gangs that are based upon one gang and they havnt showed chicagos most powerful gang yet the gangster disciples are still the most powerful gang in chicago and many other places now ever since larry hoover and people should be aware that this gang is there and to watch out for them

I agree, the only segment of gangland that I have seen portrayed bikers riding by with electic guitars playing in the background. rather than focusing on the harm and suffering that gangs cause. history channel chose to portray these sociopaths as tough, masculine guys that take no sh**. I found it repulsive. furthermore, History channel is aware that publicity is beneficial to gangs. they stated as much in the episode that i watched, where the publicity generated by a DEA sting more than doubled gang enrollment. I was disgusted.

Are you saying send the History channel execs into the streets to take care of it? You gotta be kidding. This is a TV channel, not a government agency. Do you think every documentary made about something negative should have the documentary maker responsible for doing something about it? Nonsense.

This is a documentary series about gang life. If they had a show called "Victims of Gangs" I might watch it. Probably not though.
I'm glad this show is on because it is very informative about what goes on in the gangs. According to some people's logic, the show shouldn't be on at all, or it should be morphed into a totally different show.

Hey all,
I'm looking for a complete list of all the episodes aired to date. I think I have all of them saved, but do not know the proper chronological order they are to be in. TVRage.com is a mess and doesn't even have all the episode names.
Anyone who can guide me to the right information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Simple, the way the gang members are portrayed they're made out to be cool, hard,and hip instead of what they really are totally ignorant. Life is hard and bad enough as it is, going to jail sure isn't going to make it any better. All these kids see these clowns as tough guys who don't take any crap from anyone, what a joke. They need to be shown for what they really are, total fools. Anyone in jail or heading there isn't a tough guy or girl, they're an idiot. Christ, you have middle class and even well off kids running around flashing gang signs thinking they're being cool and hip. People, especially younger ones, are impressionable, the advertising industry isn't a billion dollar one for nothing. What shows like this does is promote the life style everywhere instead of keeping it isolated in certain areas, a negative commercialism. If you have a cancer do you do everything you can to get it spreading everywhere or do you try to keep it in a small area where it can be dealt with?
I agree with you about it not being so much racist, it does show all color of people are morons.
Instead of shows like this why don't they have shows teaching people about the ins and outs of the stock market, the banking industry, the legal system, so on and so forth. Capitalism thrives on ignorance, keep everyone stupid and you can take advantage of them. Selling the tough and cool image keeps people stupid and unfortunately makes these channels money at the sake of our society.
