It's easy to find his policy statements online. http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/02/obamas_iraq_withdrawal_plan_1.asp Besides which his policy, not the detailed procedures and accounting tally details, is and was pretty clear. In 2008 he stated "I continue to believe that it is a strategic error for us to maintain a long-term occupation in Iraq at a time when conditions in Afghanistan are worsening, al-Qaida is continuing to establish bases in areas of north-west Pakistan, resources there are severely strained and we are spending $10bn (£5bn) to $12bn a month in Iraq that we desperately need here at home, not to mention the strains on our military," Obama said.

BTW, how would you rate him so far as a commander-in-chief of the USA armed forces?

> BTW, how would you rate him so far as a > commander-in-chief of the USA armed forces? Obama said within 16 months of taking office most of the troops would be gone. Or was it that all of the troops would be gone? As it is now I think there are some logistical problems with removing all of the hardware that has been stockpiled across the country. Time w ill tell. As far as his performance as Commander in Chief I think he's doing alright. He hasn't done too much but that's ok. He's waiting until things are clear cut in Afghanistan before committing more troops. That's already a huge leap ahead of Bush's skill in this area. That is to say that he, Obama is capapble of critical thinking.

Obama said within 16 months of taking office most of the troops would be gone. Now, half the way to his promise, I wonder if he started to fulfill it? Or is he waiting the last month to start to do it? He hasn't done too much but that's ok. He's waiting until things are clear cut in Afghanistan before committing more troops. That's already a huge leap ahead of Bush's skill in this area. That is to say that he, Obama is capapble of critical thinking. Does this mean that "not doing much" (or not doing anything at all) now implies "critical thinking"?

And what about his promise a year ago to catch Bin Laden? Does anybody remember? He critisized Bush for not catching enemy #1 and promised that if he would become the president this task would be his priority in the "war on terror". Does anybody remember that? How long we should wait until he fulfils that another promise?
