In defense of Simcha Jacobovici

I think that Simcha Jacobovici is wonderful. I enjoyed watching the "Naked Archaeologist" and the show about the Exodus in August. To me, his voice is very soothing and enchanting. I think he is very attractive.
Everyone likes different people. I am a woman and I thought he was irresistable. I hope History International has Simcha Jacobovici host more shows.

"Irrestible, wonderful, enchanting, attractive" do not constitute a defense for being a "journalist for a faith-based cable channel" masquerading as an archaeologist, torturing the archaeological record to make a case that just isn't there.

Just as Jesus had to speak in parables for the masses, Simcha must be an entertainer to spread his knowledge widely. Few people will pay attention to the average droning on and on in a monotone of many scholars, except for other "tone deaf" drones. I, too, have great admiration for Simcha although my Judeophilia is more for Jeff Goldblum.

This guy is not an archaeologist. The site www.simchaj.ca/blog/AboutSimcha says "An Israeli-born Canadian, Mr. Jacobovici has a B.A. in Philosophy from McGill University and a M.A. in International Relations from the University of Toronto."
Propaganda is propaganda, no matter how attractive the host or how much it appears to be science. This is the most blatant example of Jewish proselytizing on television today.

I'm sorry I can't defend Jacobovici. He did his level best to tear down one of the foundations of the Christian faith, that is the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ by finding his bones. He lost me as a viewer, and I'm would hope other Christians, for his attempt to be the devil's advocate.

I only wish there were such a thing as "Jewish prosyletizing". Which, of course, there isn't as it isn't allowed. What a breath of fresh air that would be! My door is always open.
Simcha bends way over backwards to accomodate the Christians' interests on his show which is very kind of him but hardly necessary. At least, I'm not interested in those relatively modern days. He plays the devil's advocate so well that he seems to actually be advocating some hypotheses himself. I am in anxious anticipation for the new season of shows. I wish seasons still lasted as long as they did when I was a girl (in the fifties).

I am a Christian and I still have to agree with you here. This is not Archaeology nor journalism but rather his personal (or writers) and embellished interpretation for showmanship purposes.

Tamicat I so agree with you!!! If I wasn't completely in love with my boyfriend, I'd hop on a plane to Toronto and track him down myself! Ok, maybe not
I find his strange and curious style of investigation absolutely mesmerizing. He approaches things almost backwards, but then you see where he's going and it all makes sense.
I am a christian, but I don't mind the questions he poses. I think too many christians have forgotten our Jewish roots and have stifled our faith but not letting those adventurous explorers respectively buck the status-quo.

This accusation is an example of how people make generalizations from their own limited experiences. JEWS DO NOT RECRUIT! In fact, Orthodox Jews, such as Simcha, believe that, in order to be a Jew, one must be born to a Jewish mother.
Demands that people from other religions convert to "the one true religion" (or be forever condemned) come from folks like Al Qaeda and bible thumping evangelicals, neither of whom are accepting of a diverse world...

I am a Christian and I think from all the episodes I have
watched he is just trying to find out the truth. When I first saw him on the program I didn't know his name(I had a suspicion that he was Jewish) but I noticed that all he wanted to do is find truth. I have seen him not agree with Jewish archaeologists on the show so I don't feel like he is toting any religious line. I think he is great. Jewish or Christian it doesn't matter to me just so long as he keeps digging. Thank you Simcha from Cindilee Miller a devoted fan
