If you tranq the BF you can take all the sample you want... then tag it to track and that others can see this is real, agree with you that what you saw was real, and add to possibilities to find more maybe the population. not to mention not disrupting the eco system that BF live in... maybe it has an important role and killing it would be the beginning to a bigger butterfly effect. who knows maybe BF is soo important to the ecosystem that his really good elusive nature might just have a bigger purpose. Any way who wants to go down in history as the person who killed bigfoot? You, generally speaking here, really wanted to be hated by enviromentalists and bigfoot believers? unless that was a goal in the first place. but that sounds sooooooooooo masicistic.

on the subject of panthers in N. America. Just to try to be the skeptic, couldn't these have either one migrated from the south or be accidentally released from zoos, like in Neworalnds with Katrina and the zoos occupants, or private owners from either from ohio or northern mexico?

I just found out I may have a chance to spend some time with a real cougar. Apparantly she is a pet. So, I get to see a cougar up close, and pet it:-D Don't know when this will take place though; but soon I think!

If it attacks you and you survive you could be interviewed in the next MonsterQuest big cats episode.

Wildlife biologist Tony Povilitis will talk about Arizona jaguars Sunday night as part of Prescott College's annual Fall Environmental Studies Colloquium.

The free public talk starts at 7 p.m. in the Crossroads building, Room 100.

Povilitis directs Life Net Nature, a non-profit group dedicated to field studies, citizen science and wildlife conservation.

Jaguars have been the subject of controversy in recent months in Arizona, after the Arizona Game and Fish Department captured the a rare jaguar in Southeastern Arizona, studied it while under anesthesia, soon saw it was ailing, recaptured it and then euthanized it. Investigations into the incident continue. It was the only remaining known jaguar in the U.S.
The colloquium offers the public and students a change to talk with experts in environmental fields about the relationships between humans and the rest of the natural world.

The colloquium consists of six talks in November. See www.prescott.edu for more information and a map.

It was the only remaining known jaguar in the U.S.. It's not like a pantry where you know where your cheeto's are at all times. This is a large country with a lot of space and living animals that can and do migrate.

We went out to take down the trail camera durning deer hunting season so that it will not get hit by a bullet . I was just checking the pictures . I am not real sure because it is not a real good picture but it looks like I may have gotten a picture of a cougar Sat. night . It has it's head down in the tall grass where I put out some cat nip , you can see that it has short ears though . You can also tell that the animal is over two feet tall because it is standing near a metal rod that we put into the ground by a tree and we know that it is sticking up over two feet tall .

Also, If I do get to see the real cougar I plan to take a picture if I can.

I plan to be very careful if I get to pet it! Believe me I have no wish to be bit or scratched!

garnan! Wow! that is great!

If you do not mind please forward it to me, too. Thanks.

Rayzr, calm down, will you? Some just do not want to hear that.

Not me, I do not care, but others are probably upset by it. Remember, this is still a public place.
