This past weekened I watched the episode on armor. There was a glaring and frankly obnoxious error that the production staff for the program should have known better!!!!! Going through the history of armor, when it came to discussing the advent of Kevlar, instead of naming the inventor, STEPHANIE KWOLEK, a woman, the only woman and non-Phd working at the Dupont labs in the early sixties INVENTED Kevlar, NOT as broadcast the ambiguous and anonymous "researchers" that also intones men only. All it took was a simple Google on the term "Kevlar" and "inventor" to discover that it was a woman, not the ambigous "researchers." Or maybe the producers knew it and just did not care. Why let few facts get in the way of a good story. No wonder women never get credit for scientific and analytical prsuits. It is sloppy research by societal vehicles like Modern Marvels on the History Channel that continue to propagate that somehow only men know what is going on and women should continue to be best relegated to being helpers, picking out colors and raising children!!!!!!!!!!
