At approximately 12:15 of the Carbon Episode, this episode makes a basic error of chemistry. The video’s animation shows carbon bonding with atoms of large metals that give up their electrons on the right side of the periodic table while also forming chemical bonds with atoms of smaller, nonmetallic, and gaseous elements that take electrons on the left side of the table. While it is true that carbon forms chemical bonds with both metallic and nonmetallic elements, large metallic elements are found on the left side of the periodic table while smaller nonmetal elements are found on the right side of the periodic table. Therefore, the audio of the video is correct but the animation is wrong. Basically, the video’s graphical animation incorrectly positions metal and nonmetal atoms on the periodic table. (Note: The symbols on the periodic table in the background of the graphics is accurate.) The animation would be great if it didn't get the geographical coasts of the periodic table somewhat confused Overall it's Great episode with some really interesting things talked about that I didnt know about.. still such a careless error makes me wonder a little about the accuracy of the things they say.
