WHAT IF command at Pearl Harbor had real warning before 12/7/41?

We were discussing the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor (December 7 1941) and how some detailed advance warning (say 12 hours) would have affected the outcome. Some in our group thought that a number of ships would have been saved, even if they did not have time to leave port, because we could have gotten our fighter planes up ahead of time and had time to man the anti-aircraft guns. Others thought that the number of ships sunk would have been nearly the same, but that the Japanese would have lost 20 or 30% of the attacking airplanes. What is the best conventional wisdom on this debate?
