ADR Sertificate

Nov 2, 2009 1:40 PM
Im not to into American longhauling but love the series. I was wondering if they have the same rules for a ADR certificate for hauling dangerous and toxic goods like they do here. I see about every driver picking up loads with fuel +

I love that the "fighting" from the first series is over and the focus is more on great drivers and what they face on the road. The friendly rivalry is just great. But backstabbing realty "show" stuff is better left for other shows even though I would love for the OCC to focus more on bikes and less on fights!!

There is a very similar certification process administered by the U.S. Dept. of Transportation with enforcement and some training responsibilities delegated to the State governments. Over the course of time the "hazmat" regulations in Europe and N. America are coming closer together.

The ADR certification would not be recognized. But the concepts and training are very similar. So you would have no problem getting the DOT certificates via a trucking company after all of the visas are in place to allow employment. One thing I dont know about ADR cert. is regarding criminal background checks. The govt. here checks that very closely now after the terrorist attack in 2001.
