About the smaller trucks seen on the Ice Road Truckers (not Semi)

Hi
I have seen a few episodes and I have seen that therea are lots of Ford F-series, Excursions, Dogde Rams and Chevrolet Silverados etc. trucks. Are they diesel or petrol? What kind of motor oils they use? Do they use engine block heaters or fuelheaters (Webasto, Eberspächer etc.)?
What is the best brand/model for those cold conditions?

mostly diesel up her but lots of gas jobs too , yes to the block heaters and thin motor oil like 0/30 synthetic
