Hell: The Devil's Domain

If this were not such a serious subject, I would have found your choice of wording for this title amusing. Hell, more specifically, the Lake of Fire, will be the domain of the devil insofar as he (Satan) will be living there for eternity. Hell was created by God i.e., the God of Israel, the Father of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, the Lord God Jehovah for Satan and his fallen angels. However, any man or woman will most certainly join Satan and his demonic minions if they choose not to admit that they are sinners, repent and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior on this side of death. It's as simple as that. So, whose domain is it, actually? Jesus said " I am He that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and death. Revelation 1:18

So by your logic, Hell is just God's dark basement and Satan just happens to live there? While I try to respect people's religous beliefs, please admit the flaws in that theory. Because if everything goes back to "God" truly being in control of all, then "Satan" can't really tempt anyone. He only does what "God" allows him to do, therefore making it not really "Satan's" actions, but "God's". The qoutation marks are not there to mock you sir, but I was forced to go to church most of my life. And when no one could explain that to me (and I was old enough), I stopped going. Maybe you could shed some light.

I agree absolutely with Fallenonex. If God is omnipotent, omniscient and compassionate, why does Hell exist at all? Why does the Devil exist? As a responsible father, I sure would like to rid my child's world of evil, scourge, poverty, suffering, etc. Is God not the ultimate father? And I sure wouldn't make my child beg on his knees for my compassion, caring or intervention. Especially if my power and resources were unlimited.

Yet this Christian god has allowed evil to enter the world, and force his children to beg for this intervention (which he usually doesn't give -- just look at the death rate of devout Christians dying of cancer).

The whole "free will" argument is worthless because the infant born with horrible deformities had no free will to cause his fate. Nor did the victims of the Holocaust. And even if God did want to give "free will," would a responsible father not intervene if his children's acts cause harm? Doesn't the Bible say something about "sparing the rod"?

The undeniable conclusion is that either God is unable or unwilling to prevent harm to his own creations. If unable, then he is not omnipotent. If unwilling, then he is not all-compassionate -- especially to innocent victims.

IN addition to the comments I left for Fallenonex, here is the silliest and perhaps most sacred myth of the bible: Why would a wonderful father like God want or allow his son Jesus to suffer/die for the sins of others? Is that justice? Should we as a society employ whipping boys to be punished for the crimes of others? WHy not just punish those who sinned?

This myth was especially prominent when The Passion of the Christ came out, and some blamed Jews for killing Christ.

IF THEY INDEED KILLED CHRIST, why get mad at the Jews when they were merely carrying out God's plan? Had Christ not been absorbed our sins by suffering, would we all still be here? So in essence, didn't those murderous Jews save humanity by killing Christ as ordained by God? It was his plan and of course, he is perfect, so the plan must be correct and just.

So rather than blaming Jews, shouldn't Christians thank them -- and blame God for designing such a barbarous method to forgive humanity?

It's unbelievable how people refuse to use critical thinking when it comes to biblical mythology. You'd think critically when buying a car or deciding on a phone plan, so why not use it for something so much more important?
