Does the Vatican really employ Vampire Slayers? Or is that just more Science Fiction born of Hollywood?

> I was raised and was educated by Jesuits Damn! How did that happen? Please do not think me either stupid or disrespectful, but, DAMN! Are Jesuits allowed to reproduce? I mean, the Priests have to remain celibate (or rape choir boys or some other hidden thing), so how is it that you have Jesuits for parents. That is TOOOOO cool!

In the same vein, but not nearly as famous are the Pentecostal zombie culling squads and the Greek Orthodox anti-werewolf brigade. -- If irony were strawberries we would all be having smoothies right now.

You should take greater care of the words you put, for that is all we know of you.

Down Bound Train A stranger lying on a bar room floor Had drank so much he could drink no more, So he fell asleep with a troubled brain To dream that he rode on that down bound train. The engine with blood was sweaty and damp And brilliantly lit with a brimstone lamp, And imps for fuel was shovelling bones While the furnace rang with a thousand groans. The boiler was filled with lots of beer The devil himself was the engineer, The passengers were most a motley crew, Some were foreigners and others he knew. Rich men and lost beggars in rags Handsome young ladies and wicked old hags. As the train rushed on at a terrible pace Sulphuric fumes scorched their hands and face, Wider and wider the country grew Faster and faster the engine flew, Louder and louder the thunder crashed Brighter and brighter the lighting flashed, Hotter and hotter the air became Till their clothes were burned with each quivering refrain. Then out of the din there came a yell Ha ha said the devil we're nearing home, Oh how the passengers shrieked with pain They go to Satan with this down bound train. The stranger awoke with an anguished cry His clothes wet with sweat and his hair standing high, He fell on his knees on the bar room floor And prayed a prayer like never before. And the prayers and vows were not in vain For he never rode that down bound train.

I haven't heard that in decades! Do you have any idea who wrote it? My grandfather was a train engineer, so we heard all the train songs and poems. Good memories. -- I will defend to the death your right to offend me.

"Down Bound Train" was inspired by Berry's fire and brimstone religious upbringing; both his parents were staunch Baptists, and sang in the Antioch Church Choir, which rehearsed at his home. It is a song about redemption and a warning against alcohol abuse. A man who has too much to drink falls asleep on a bar room floor and has a vivid dream about riding a train. The train, which is driven by the Devil himself, contains an eclectic mix of people he knows, foreigners, rich and poor. When the man wakes up he renounces the demon drink. The message is that anyone from any background can be afflicted by drink - or by some other vice or sin - but we can all choose to be saved.

Downtown Train Outside another yellow moon punched a hole in the nighttime, yes I climb through the window and down the street shining like a new dime the downtown trains are full with all those Brooklyn girls they try so hard to break out of their little worlds You wave your hand and they scatter like crows they have nothing that will ever capture your heart theyr'e just thorns without the rose be careful of them in the dark oh if I was the one you chose to be your only one oh baby can't you hear me now Chorus Will I see you tonight on a downtown train every night is just the same you leave me lonely now I know your window and I know it's late I know your stairs and your doorway I walk down your street and past your gate I stand by the light at the four way you watch them as they fall they all have heart attacks they stay at the carnival but they'll never win you back Chorus Will I see you tonight on a downtown train where every night is just the same you leave me lonely will I see you tonight on a downtown train all of my dreams just fall like rain all upon a downtown train -- "It's interesting to note that there was little or no media focus on the 9-11 terrorists during the Bush administration and therefore no public outrage." - Whitehall
