Yesterday, during his address to a gathering of Native Americans, I guess Obama thought he could insult them by relating their trials to himself.
"I know what it means to feel ignored and forgotten, and what it means to struggle. So you will not be forgotten as long as I'm in this White House."
I guess Obama thinks Native Americans are stupid. He has struggled? How so? Has he been forced to live on a reservation where the nearest school is 60 miles away? Has he known what it was like to do without heat, or even electricity? Or is he really so clueless that he doesn't understand that most Native Americans never get handed the advantages he has been? I wonder if Obama has even bothered to look into the despicable BIA medical system. Maybe he is thinking about the stories told to him by his grandmother of how systematic genocide was committed against his ancestors.
How many Native Americans get to go to a tony prep school and then on to the exorbitantly priced Occidental College as well as not just one, but two equally exorbitantly priced tony Ivy League universities?
In truth, Obama can't begin to relate to the struggle of Native Americans. I doubt that he has ever set foot on a reservation. But of course, as with all of Obama's speeches, it is always ALL about him.
And have you ever noticed that no matter what group Obama is talking to, he can always relate to them, be they Native Americans, Hispanics, Asians or Muslims?
What a freaking joke this clown is.

Kind of embarrassing to have him make his strange speech about Ft. Hood while talking to us - the first time we've gotten to talk to the President in fifteen years. And then it was don't worry, little Indians, I'll see you keep getting what you've always gotten! If he wants to help us, he can scrub the BIA, or maybe just bring it out of the 19th century. How about all those billions swiped - the Cobell judgment says 47 billion is owed but I guess it went to AIG. Then he gets Joe Medicine Crow-High Bird's medal wrong - it was the Medal of Freedom, not the Medal of Honor. I suppose he knows the difference? He doesn't understand the meaning of nation-to-nation; he thinks we're just another minority to be courted. When I went back there with our delegation in July, we ladies were supposed to have a cute little tea with Michelle but she ditched us for a publicity shoot with some kids for her garden. We did save the funding for some language programs and some resources projects but it was clear we were begging at the master's table - again. But at least we didn't have to say Great White Father this time!

Give him a break; after growing up in Hawaii and living on the street, his situation never afforded him the opportunity to buy a surfboard ! Why, I bet he has never even had a wool blanket handed to him by a U.S. soldier ! :

Dr. Wirey,
Well, I'm disappointed in Obama so far as we go. I had my fingers crossed that this time, maybe. But he seems to be simply tagging along with his party policy regarding us - keep the welfare coming. So for us, the more things change the more they stay the same. Still maybe there's more flexibility with this president - we'll have to see - but I'm not so hopeful anymore.

Watching them live it up and vacation and getting all those raises was even more disappointing. They were stealing like it was going out of fashion. So what did our presidents do? Give them more money of course.
