"Ancient Aliens" History needs to apologize.

The Von Dannikan thing is bogus, full of errors (17 THOUSAND year old ruins?) and commentary by people who know nothing of which they speak.
Saying that the Mayans went exinct hundreds of years before most of the artifacts shown were even built is poor research, and most of the things discussed have been debunked in docs that have appeared on the History channel in the past.
This is worse than "The Men who Killed Kennedy" which, as some of us remembered caused an official apology by the network.
Even with the likes of Bill Moyers and Lady Bird Johnson "not in this fight." Its just as bad and destroys a sterling reputation.

I guess shame on me for even tuning in to a show with this title. But shouldn't I fairly expect some counter point? The errors made, even using the narrator's voice, made my skin crawl.
The Pyramids' dates were off by over 100 years. The decline of the Maya off several hundred years. And Tihuanaco 17,000 years old? Yikes! I doubt more than 1% of credible archaeologists would buy that.

Your argument is based on the assumption that the history channel actually shows history.
It does not.
The history channel is actually a mishmash of pseudo-science, alien conspiracies, with the occasional history tidbit thrown in...

But History channel wasn't always this way, was it? 5 years ago, I used to watch all the time. I guess now I'm finding out why I never tune in any more.
I miss Conquest, Mail Call, and Modern Marvels: The Evolution of the Lawnmower.

Agree to the lack of integrity of this program. Lost a lot of respect for the channel with this one, and especially the one about street gangs that glamorized them by the narrator speakinggin a low "tough" voice while showing sensational images of these unfortunate thugs who brutalize families and kill people. This is entertainment? I shut it off.
