What movie doesn't have historical flaws??

I just watched Spencer Tracy's Stanley & Livingstone. Come on - he went to Africa. That's about all that was accurate. But it told enough of the story in a compelling way to make it mean something. That's when Hollywood gets it right. When they make us care about the story. But when it sways us too far from the truth of the story it's not doing anyone a service. Hollywood has re-written history more than it's ever depicted it.

I'm actually trying to think of any film that has ever been more accurate than not. Can't think of anything. Maybe The Ten Commandments. It strayed some, but stuck to the basics very well.

So there's my question. When has Hollywood been accurate?

Sometimes they do a good job. It just depends on the commitment of the production company.

Hollywood is occasionaly correct, when the real history does not get in the way of the drama they so desire. But Hollywood does realize that there are some historical events that should not be messed with.See Schindlers' List.
