matt is doing a very good job in my opinion. he's making a boring and stressfull job seem neat and exciting. for the few and loud people in a previous post, answer this. who would you want as host? someone like matt or someone like barbara walters or pat sajak??? just because you can do a news or game show doesn't mean you can keep a program about railroading interesting. you have to realize this show isn't here for people who like trains(foamers) it's here to inform. matt is doing a great job.

I can not believe all the complaining about Matt, the host. I thought he did a fantastic job. It was the most entertaining series I have seen in a long, long time. I retired from CSX in 2007. I really do not miss my job, but boy did Matt bring back memories, and an opportunity to show people what I did. I can not believe the Union Pacific allowed Matt the freedom to show what he did. When has there ever been a modern day railroad show like this ? I had my DVR set to tape the show, and boy was I dissappointed to see that the series is over. Please make more, and include Matt. He was great. Thanks a million for this great series...........................

I doubt there are many engineers going WOW after 10 years on the job. > > for the few and loud people in a previous post, > answer this. who would you want as host? someone like > matt or someone like barbara walters or pat sajak??? > just because you can do a news or game show doesn't > mean you can keep a program about railroading > interesting. you have to realize this show isn't here > for people who like trains(foamers) it's here to > inform. Mike Rowe has been brought as example. I too like his style of doing a show much better. I also prefer the format of Ice Road Truckers even though they also tend to over-dramatize things a bit. Let the RR people speak for themselves and have them explain their stuff. This would probably also avoid many of the factual inaccuracies.

I love the concept and the content of the show. I can't stand Matt Brown's "life or death" expressions throughout the show. I find it best viewed with MUTE on.

There needs to be many more posts on this topic as opposed to the others... I cannot understand why all the HATE! There is no reason why anyone should be putting this show or Matt down. If you don't like the show then keep watching your Pentrex videos! Keep up the good work Matt...

Matt is doing a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the zest and enthusiasm he shows for his job and the energy he creates! The negative postings sound like jealousy to me. Great going!

Matt is just like any other train crew member back in Maine. He does a great job, is a regular guy and most everyone who works with him out of Waterville likes him very much. It is called a show.... he is a showman not an undertaker.

I think all this complaining is completely stupid!!! Matt is a great host! I like his show so much, I spent $15.99 to get eight episodes on my Ipod. I also watch his show when ever I can!

My family and I have enjoyed the Extreme Train Series all year - we watch the tapes over and over. All you naysayers - one question. Can you do a better job? I've seen you at various train depots, stations, train shows, etc. and don't think most of you would be able to maintain an entertaining and interesting hour long conversation on your own, or look into the camera, or put your ego on the line the way Matt B did. He did a great job. Let's not be so harsh in our judgement. My family enjoyed this man and met him a few weeks ago at the Model Train Show in Ct. May I just add, Matt B was kind, a gentleman, cordial, and wonderful with my children. He held a conversation, was funny, interesting and self depricating and all of you should take a lesson out of his book. shame on you being so critical.

Extreme Trains was a fantastic show with a GREAT host. It was so refreshing to see the host of a show so entusiastic about the topic. Granted he may have gone overboard a few times but part of this industry involves selling the product. I ran work trains for M of W (Maintenance-of-Way). People come out just to look at the locomotives. They would bring their children. We threw bubble gum out the window as we went by. If the opportunity presented itself our train crew would explain how the locomotive worked and answered questions. You just wouldn't believe the enthusiasm! Most adults nowadays have never been on a train. When I tell them I was an engineer their eyes will light up and get as excited as a child with a new toy. The folks who hated the show and the host should rejoice if their comments had a part in the show's cancellation. I know I will miss it.
