Expedition Africa was a refreshing change of pace from ordinary reality TV programing. This was a program which was more intellectual than most major network fair such as Survivor and the Amazing Race. The viewer is allowed to be a witness as the participants negotiate natural and sometime life threatening obstacles as they work together to reach a final goal. I would hope that the History Channel produces additional programing of this nature. I've read that some fans would like to see an additional expedition in Africa as well as South America. Personally, I would like to see an expedition across parts of Southeast Asia through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and perhaps Laos. This is an area of the world that is largely misunderstood by the west.

They really need to keep this going. I think it would be awesome if they recreated journeys of all the famous explorers.
They should be Magellan, James Cook, Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus, etc...
They should do them all...

I agree we need additional expeditions, maybe not Africa. After 970 miles of it, we're pretty knowledgeable. I would suggest the Amazon. Lots of dangers, exciting people, and an exciting place. For instance, Alexander von Humboldt, Sebastian de Benakazar, or Colonel Percy Fawcett. It would make for some exciting programming.

I'd like to see another one myself, but if we get one, I do have some words for those at the History Channel: It would be nice if you actually made a little effort to help the show succeed, instead of trying to kill it.
Promo-ing the show for months before its launch? Great idea! Putting it on against the season ender of BREAKING BAD? STUNNINGLY stupid idea.
Burying it in a Sunday-at-10 timeslot? STUNNINGLY stupid. It should have been somewhere like Monday at 8, but just about anywhere else it could have been run would have been better than Sun. at 10 (the traditional worst-rated-slot for primetime television).
Running the last two as a two-part season ender starting in the same timeslot so that it went on until MIDNIGHT on a SUNDAY? STUNNINGLY stupid!
If this show did well in the ratings, it was in spite of HC's best efforts, and, in ANY case, I suspect it only drew a fraction of the viewership it would have managed had someone with some sense of responsibility been programming it at HC.
So another Expedition? Yes. More half-witted programming decisions? No.
