Watching the show for the first time with Hunter Ellis and Karen Cooney (Hunley episode) - OMG! I had to switch it off halfway through the show.
Kara Cooney - it was like watching a FOX news-celeb. Her constant interupting was annoying. I mean - she was obviously bugging the people on camera as well...Too much repeating and leading to - errr - wrong conclusions.
Maybe I'm being to hard on her - maybe the last half of the show was dynamite...but I doubt it. Like Hunter, she's attractive-TV-people...but WTF - it's the history channel. Yo pushy! I want to hear what the expert has to say - not what you think they are going to say...

Maestrosmurf - before you get too carried away with the "FOX news-celeb" comments, check the facts - Kara Cooney IS an expert: PhD in archeology, lots of academic publications and taught at Stanford & UCLA (google her). I think the idea is to have Kara along as real archaeologist who can banter with the other experts on the show. I've seen her several times on History and Discovery in Egypt shows as the expert being interviewed, not just as a host. Don't knock her because she's enthusiastic.

I don't think has to "try" to look good. Looks natural to me! More like Sandra Bullock.

Yah - I knew she was archeologist - said so right on the screen during the show...Yes, I haven't seen her other shows. If she's act different on her other shows - she should try that on DFG. Interrupting "her guests" when speaking seems like - FOX news.
I wasn't commenting on her academic credentials (don't care) - what I saw on the Hunley episode wasn't bantering with experts...
Watch the part when she gushes "so you're saying it was a SUIDICED MISSION" - watch the expression on the dude's face she cut off...enthusiastic overcooked ham.
I'm sure she comes off better when she is the expert being featured...

Seriously don't hate on people you DO NOT KNOW! I've talked to her and know her personally and she's the coolest person I've ever met! And yes, her cerdentials do matter and you should care or your comments are irrelevant. she IS an expert and has as much right to make a comment as anyone else and I'm sure you're not as educated as her or you wouldnt be making childish comments (this isn't high school). I advise you to get educated and stop your bantering, because I'm sure people are tired of you too.

I find her ignoring the muslims slaughtering millions and taking over countries since their 800 AD inception quite irritating.
She's really quick to blame the Templar's/Catholics for killing everyone.. but she doesn't really say that they are defending their own land. Not make believe land, but real life real day European lands. Has she read about Mohammed personally beheading 400-800 Jews. There are paintings showing as much in case reading the Koran is too confusing.
But she is an Egyptologist, so I'm assuming she only read the History for Dummies book for the rest of the topics. UCLA probably gave her a nice I hate Catholics handbook when she arrived.
She comes off as quite stupid and academic to me. Academic meaning without the burden of proof of reality. Cause and effect, and even present day attacks don't seem to enter into her myopic view of history.
So that's about it. She needs to stick to Egyptology. At least she can't be proven wrong in that arena since everyone's dead and not watching it on the daily news.
