2012

I just watched a Digging show on 2012 and I wondered if anyone else has seen this show and what your thoughts are on the subject. :(

Should we prepare for this date in December and stock up on food & etc.?

You should try not to get worked up about the doomsday predictions. You will only make yourself miserable instead of enjoying your life. It is prudent though, to be prepared for any devastating natural disaster. Having a couple weeks worth of water and food stored may seem paranoid to some, but history shows it is just good sense. Plus if you ever find yourself in an economic crunch, it can be very helpful as well.

If you are looking for preparedness information. I believe (not positive on this) the Mormon Church publishes some guidelines on food storage (i.e. what kind of containers to use, how long particular foods can be stored, etc.). Best wishes to you. :)

We'll never know the time or the place of doomsday. It's probably better that we don't know, too; otherwise we'd spend our lives worrying about it and dreading it instead of enjoying life.

I agree with not worrying about Doomsday. It would be too depressing and make you miserable. I don't think stocking up on food, etc. would help anything if that is the actual destruction of humanity. My motto has always been "If it happens, then there is nothing you can do about it. So don't worry about it". I dunno, it's gets me through the day :)

That said, I have always been intrigued by 2012 and how that calender was calculated. The Myan have always held my interest.
