I'm not sure whether this is really a stupid topic as Bismark seems to indicate. The truth is that Stalin's army had already occupied Eastern Europe by late 1944-45 and it was unlikely that he would be dislogded with any force short of large scale war. It is stupid to think that Churchill or Roosevelt had any real choice in the matter.
