Boys and girls "yes still considered children" find it very interesting and fun to have sex at a early age. Yet what they do not realize is that using condoms and birth control can sometimes have no affect on them. Why do children get the idea to have sex at a early age? It is threw tv shows influencing them to and through people at school or college or peer pressure. TV these days should not be all about sex. Children can't even watch a family movie or show without a commercial coming on trying to persuade viewers to use condoms. And then the parents wonder why their children get pregnant at such an early age. It is because of tv programs and commercials not setting a good example for younger adolescents. It is a shame that tv has come to this these days. I don't even want to watch tv anymore because I turn on the television and there is nothing but shows on that have to deal with drinking using drugs doing sex and oral sex. It is very gross and pathetic that that is what our tv viewing has come to.

Im very happy for your comment, everything you said is true. We have became a society were the children at a very early age want to have sex. Now why are our children acting like this? Every single day we are losing our values, and why do we let this happen? Why do we have to see our children acting like adults and then regreting their lives later? Why our nation isnt doing something about this? I think that the United State have to start solving their problems before trying to resolves other nations problems. Our families are becoming apart every day and all we see in the television, radio, internet and even in a comercial is the nation telling our kids how you can have sex without getting pregnant instead of telling them that even if they dont get pregnant, its still is fornication. There was one time that I saw the United State as an example for all the nations around the world, but right now, I think that is becoming a bad example for all the nations.

I believe that no matter what is on tv,radio, internet ., teens will be teens no matter what they see,or hear they will always do what they want even if they see the commercials on tv about using condoms many of them have had sex way before the commercials. this nation is not becoming regarding it is the people in this nation that are. so before people start to read from the bible or a book that they love i think that they should really open there eyes and look into the real world

You are correct, it's called hormones, and as I've brought up in another thread elsewhere, we are the only developed country that fears sex and nudity, in other developed countries you can walk down the street naked and the worst that will happen is that you get a funny look.

"yea" i agree that boys and girls are just still considered as children but the question is how do the parents raise the child at the small age u see what i am saying.i agree that tv is all about sex and violence too but the parent should no what to do. i think these days that the std(s),hiv(s)and aid(s) is uncalledfor so please stop and listen to your child.so they dont get it

i agree that television does have commercials for condoms and the like but that is part of our freedom of speech. secondly i think that the parents of some of the teenagers now weren't raised by parents who were willing to talk about and have discussions on sex and the after affects thereof, some of the parents were raised in a hush-hush home and family. third, being as i am a teenage myself i know from experience that teenagers do not want to talk to their parents about these issues because its like if we even say the word sex or condom or anything like that our parents would begin to lecture us or question id like we've already had sex or done something. fourth, parents of some teens do not listen whatsoever, my mom would rather sit there and yell at me about miniscule things than listen to what i have to say about something, its not always easy to find the right kind of information on sex and not all adults are willing to talk about it. most people follow the crowd and do whatever their friends are doing to look cool, and if their friends are having sex then they will most likely have it too, another thing is peer pressure. some teens think its cool to do drugs or drink alcohol which affect your ability to decern right from wrong and causes you to make bad choices. so all of the sex that teens have cant be blamed on only one source for there are many things that contribute to this catastrophe that has occurred.

This topic cannot be seriously discussed without predetermining what the Age of Consent is. Furthermore, no AoC determines what children can KNOW, only what they can DO. If children are going to grow up and die, they might as well know it from the beginning. We once had AoCs at 13 for marriage. Not one of us isn't descended from a 12- or 13-year-old. Then we made children out of 18-20 year-olds when it went to 21. How can teenagers take AoCs seriously if supposed adults can't even come up with rational reasons to have them? Civilization survived for at least 4600 years before anybody thought one up. Bicycling through the Sudan many decades ago now I saw whole peoples with no clothes on; they were very nice, friendly, and, compared to me, completely unneurotic. We have a neuroses about nudity that the naked find dangerous. I felt much better when I took my clothes off and was honest with them; no, I came to agree with them! Wearing clothes where it is cold makes some sense; wearing clothes where it is hot is insanity. Prudery is still the bugaboo, and we all know that prudes are those who can't get enough sex. It's like pornophobia -- just another way of looking a pornography. Teiresias

Hey now, as a sexualy active teenager i must tell you that it is our lives and we live them like we want to. Just becasue you are insicure doesn't mean that teen sex is wrong. Principle of pleasure as i read somethere includes sexual atraction as soon as a person is sexualy mature. Its natural, and what is natural should not be considered gross.

Never watched any movies in the twenties, thirties, forties, fifties, sixtees, siventies, eighties, nineties, and of course the new millineum. Sex has been a part of "entertainment" since Shakespere. I was 22 when I lost the big "V". There is a little thing called puberty that can affect a little ones little mind. If and when I have kids I will take them to the store and buy them condoms. I will also have not just a small chat but a big one with them about using them. You can blame everything on someone else, but in the long run you have to take charge and take on some of that responsiblity yourself. I watched the same shows asa everone else and I came out fine. Why? Because I had good parents that believed in me.

I certainly agree with you on this topic, but not only is television a source of this influence, but also music and fashion industry. Most children, today, view many artists as their idols. But if you actually watch these "idols", you'll find that all they are portraying sexual acts. Even their words encourage many to think immoral thoughts. The fashion industry also promotes this idea. Even at a very young age, girls are pressured into wearing immodest clothing, bringing on sexual thoughts at such a young age. So once again, I believe it's our media and fashion industry.
