Now if you could just move this piece of junk to the same night as that other crapola show fullthrottle then I'd be happy that way I can escape being subjected to cruel and unusal tv, even a reality show would be better than either of these excuses for entertainment.

Considering the fact that this series hasn't yet begun airing, and you've already labeled it as a "piece of junk", I can only conclude that you possess phenomenal psychic abilities. Please let me know when you'll next be buying lottery tix. I could use the $$$.

not impressed, i cannot blame you for lack of enthusiasm regarding a show that i am also uninterested in. i mean, who wants to see former WWE wrestler "goldberg" discuss the finer points of automechanics. not i. this show has a place and an audience. i feel it belongs on some sort of automotive lovers channel instead of the history channel. i love to watch the history channel to apprise myself of information on the topic of history. not to see a meathead flex his steroid-induced appendages and spout memorable one-liners (let's not forget the eloquence of the macho man, "ooooooh yeah!").

I totally agree the only people that could possibly enjoy a show of such pure stupidity are those gear heads who have no real business watching educational TV. anyway. We need to start a letter campaign to let THC know we as their viewers do not wish to view such rubbish. This has to stop or The History Channel will end up like the Discovery Channel and the other channel they own. Billy

I will have to say the people who would enjoy this show did not go to collage, but instead went to a good Trade School.

"I totally agree the only people that could possibly enjoy a show of such pure stupidity are those gear heads who have no real business watching educational TV." As someone with over 380 hours of EARNED college credit and two graduate degrees (neither of which are from a "trade school"), I must respectfully disagree with your conclusionary "analysis." The program has topical merit and will be of interest to open-minded learners from all levels of formal academic achievement. Perhaps your intellectual horizons are a bit too limited.

It's too bad that you don't like shows of this nature, I feel sorry for you!! However you are not the only person who watches this channel, and I for one being a mopar muscle car buff enjoy the chance, though few to view a program of this nature. I am sure there are many people such as myself who have sat through multiple programs that we did not care for, that you probably did enjoy, with out complaining too much. If it really bothers you so much, maybe you should turn off the tube and go make some muffins, while we sit and enjoy the show, so you don't ruin it for those of us who do, thanks.

Maybe your right. Unedjucated people with no degree have no business watching the history channel. They should only watch qvc or disney. and cars for gosh sakes- not on the history channel. What were they thinking? And that big wrestler fella that grinds gears- must be a real bad#*%* can't have someone like him corupting tv, or are we being a little judgmental just maybe we are all wrong about some things and not as smart as we think we are?

My only comment on Automaniac is this: why is the programming director of history channel so enamored of these "commentators" who constantly scream and yell at the viewers? This Automaniac WWE knucklehead is only one example, but probably the worst. After trying to watch the AM episode on Supercars, I cannot stomach that steroidally overdosed idiot any longer. He is not the only example; that fellow who pretends to be a drill sargent or some other vet screaming at me about military heardware is also quickly off the watch list. Can they not find knowledgeable, expert commentators with a reasonable broadcast style?

A quick education for Streamliner. The gentleman you refer to as the "Automaniac WWE knucklehead" is named Goldberg. The host you deem "that fellow who pretends to be a drill sergeant" is named R. Lee Ermey. Ermey served 11 years of active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps, including a tour in Vietnam. He also was a Golden Globe Nominee for his role in Stanley Kubrick's, Full Metal Jacket. You've heard of Kubrick, right? Goldberg has an extensive and impressive collection of cars and is extremely knowledgeable about the subject. In this viewer's humble opinion, he and Ermey are not only entertaining, but fun to watch. Perhaps your search for an expert commentator with a more "reasonable broadcast style" should take you to another network, say HGTV, Lifetime or Oxygen.

So we're not ALL interested in the same things? The last time I took a look, we seemed to be all different with different likes and dislikes. I like the history of a lot of things, and yes, there is history in the automobile, and yes it DOES belong on this channel. If we're to learn from history and "not repeat it" maybe we'll learn how to become more energy independent? We Americans burn something like 13 million barrels of oil EVERY DAY. If I did have one complaint about this show, it would be the lack of any mention to facts like this. But then again, this isn't National Geographic. So if this isn't YOUR kind of history, change the channel or better yet, turn off your TV.
