Muscle Car Show

Dec 6, 2005 8:05 PM
I'm not quite sure where the History Channel researches their shows, but the muscle car show was grossly misguided. (much like their constant, semitic inspired, Nazi Germany propaganda that's looped every day) Contrary to the show, the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro was not only offered with a small block engine. The 396 cu, 325 HP option was offered and had a decent production count as well. The original Indy Pace cars in 1967 were 396 Camaros. In reference to the Yenko part of the show, Yenko Chevrolet could not have sold 102 COPO 427 Camaros. In 1969, there were only 69 COPO option ZL1 Camaros produced by General Motors. The ZL1 was a $4500.00 option and not highly produced. The 427 engine was offered in three different versions in 1969. The 400 HP, single carbureted version, the 425HP dual carbureted version, and the 435HP triple carbureted version, all of which were only offered in the Corvette. Yenko Chevrolet only sold 2 COPO ZL1 Camaros in 1969. (That was the maximum number of units available to each dealer that wished to order it) Neither of which were delivered with the Yenko graphics. The 100 others that were sold were originally equipped with the 327 engines and were modified with the 400HP Corvette engine that was installed at the dealership along with upgraded front coil springs. If anyone else remembers, Nicky Chevrolet also modified stock Camaros with Corvette 427 engines in 1969 as well. Nicky and Yenko both also modified Chevelles and Novas as well.
