Let's chat about Goldberg

Hey, I just wanted to say something, even though I know it's been said by people in posts, this is something that I feel needs to be said again, loud and clear. Goldberg is awesome. I've been browsing the posts on here, and noticed that Goldberg catches a lot of heat from people, they say he yells too much, they call him a "knucklehead," etc. But Goldberg gets up there and works hard to entertain people. That's more than I see anyone on this bulletin board doing. lol. (not to mention his actions with animal rights activism) A lot of people try to look down on him because he's a wrestler, but look at the facts. He loves cars, and has an impressive collection of cars and motorcycles. He obviously loves cars, and knows a lot about them, which is one of the things a host for such a show would need. People try to say "Oh, there was a factual error in the show, why didn't Goldberg correct it if he's such a gearhead?" Well, he doesn't know EVERYTHING. NO ONE does. He's only one man. It's written by researchers, and mistakes are made, it happens. Part of being human. And you know what I love most? Goldberg is obviously having fun on the show. This makes it easy for me to relate, because I know I would be having a ball. He brings a lot of charisma and excitement to the show, and it lets me know that he's a car lover like myself, and even if he wasn't, would probably give it his all anyways. I don't care for wrestling, but you know he has to give his all there to put on a good show. If I was to ever get a chance, I'd love to thank Goldberg for his work on the show, and for doing what he can to entertain people, and for being himself. I couldn't ask for any more. Great post, Americansteel! It's about time someone wrote in with something positive to say about Goldberg and AutoManiac as a whole. He's the balls. The series rocks. And I wish the viewers who are so damn irritated about these shows would find something truly worth getting upset over. Like the state of the economy. The price of gas. Or 18 year old Americans being shipped home in body bags...

i have recently discovered automaniac, with goldberg, and never miss it, this guy is fantastic, and whoever decided to use him for the show is a qenious, this guy knows his cars, i am very impressed with the way he handles the show, and i am not easily entertained. hes right about the quy in the mioura being a jerk, by the way like a lot of those guys in their exotics, i owned a porsche for fifteen years, and ran into a lot of them. i live on the big island of hawaii, and although its a big island its too small for a fast car here for me, its the only thing i miss about the mainland... todd

I agree that the show and Goldberg are awewsome. Goldberg is an entertainer, and some of his actions on the show are done "tounge in cheek" so to speak. Despite some factual shortcomings in the episodes, the shows are very entertaining, and historical in nature. Any idea when/if any new episodes will air?

Just a note about Goldberg on this show- I am concerned about the level of quality that a host of this sort represents on behalf of the History Channel. He might be alright on something like ESPN, but falls appallingly short of what I would expect from this source. He may have a number of autos that his profession has enabled him to obtain, but that is quite a different from being a true collector. He seems to know very little about the specifics whereof he speaks, and the main reason it appears that he wears dark glasses so often is to disguise his eyes following the text on his cards. Sure, he's bombastic with a personna whichs attracts the baser elements of one's character, and that may appeal to a certain demographic. I would hope this this cohort would not include those seeking real experts with specific knowledge and insight into the topics they present, a group which I would suspect represents the History Channel audience. I not only find his style of delivery grating, but more importantly he is just a demi-celeb who is merely an irritating and obnoxious talking head. This is in sharp contrast to the Edward Hermann hosted "Automobile" which I still find interesting after multiple viewings.
