hey i have been trying to find the answer to this for months. in the automaniac episode about cop cars there was a story about i think an alabama cop that chased a gto in his cruiser and couldn't catch him but the gto couldn't get away. i remember it was a two door car and i think they also called it a pony car but i thought the only pony cars were mustangs. please help me fiure out hat kind of car this is

The car was an American Motors AMX Javelin. Alabama bought several of them because they had a budget shortfall and the AMXs were offered by American Motors for a very good price, as they were struggling to sell cars. PS - the GTO was an original, 1970 Judge. I have more information on both cars and that segment as I own the GTO and drove it in the filming.
