In the Vietnam War my good fried was M4A1 Carbine with Silencer....and my anemy was Kalashnikov Model 47 (AK-47)...
I don't know what to say...ask me something about that war !

I can't find any reference to the M4A1 being used prior to the 1990's.

I think he s refering to a varient of the m1 carbine.M2 was full auto. M3 had early might vision scope. Never heard of M4 untill you get to M16 varient. Lots of M2s were given to South Vietmanese. I liked playing with them but they could draw friendly fire from people armed with M16.
