Watching that makes me want to break out my Buzz Martin LP and listen to it again.. I had a cassette tape of a logger from Lebanon that was a singer that IMHO was a better singer than Buzz, but can't remember his name, and can't find the cassette anymore..

I'm glad to see someone else has some Buzz Martin kicking around. The only other logging singers I have heard are Craig and Terry; one of my friends had a tape of theirs. Their sound was much more folk than country, but the lyrics are still all about logging. Two of the song titles I can remember include Snag Faller's Ball and He'll Quit (He's Done It Before). There was also a memorial song to Buzz Martin but I can't remember the title. Maybe I'll watch the episode again with the sound off and Buzz Martin on instead.

Good god, man. I thought you'd bit the dust. At least you're still among the living. I posted over at Pacific the other day. I'd forgotten how to log-in so I've been MIA. March seems to be the kick-off for our new season of A.M. I'm still at brandys-mom@ hotmail.com. It's time to get some rest. You do the same.

Usually around Christmas time, Baileys will have CD's listed in their catalog. I know I have seen Buzz Martin listed.

I aint the only one. I 1st got my hands on Craig and Terrys Snag Fallers ball tape in Alaska at Seleys camp at Shoal Cove in 88. Had it for years played it to much and now I have been tryin to replace it too. But to no avail. I remember I did find there publishing Company online once and they were selling a Cd Called the Saganaw Valley something or other. But could not find any links to snag fallers ball. Old Finley Hays(Loggers World Riggin Shack Author) used to have a few but he passed on this last year and I never got a chance to go up to his place and see if he had any left. If anyone finds out please post it.

Craig & Terry are my favorite, I first got there tape in the early 80's when they played at a loggers picnic just out of Craig AK they were great since the only other entertainment seemed to be going to the dump to watch the bears. Later I was lucky enough to get the two CD set from thair web site. Sure wish I could find more of there music.

Amazon lists Snag Faller's Ball as a song on a long discontinued cd titled "Songs of the Suislaw." Craig Jenkins and Terry McKinnis are/were from Mapleton, Oregon. Included on the Amazon page is a great review of a concert that Craig & Terry gave in Florence in 1999. CD Baby has a Buzz Martin cd which includes two of his lp's. The blurb for the cd was written by his son Steve Martin. My sister lives in Brownsville, I'll see if she remembers a singing logger from Lebanon. And now, of course, I can't stop singing "The Frozen Logger", because 'nobody but a logger stirs his coffee with his thumb.'

Well, I spent some time logging in Kansas, and I developed a love for good old fashioned Gospel, played on the Jews Harp. Ain't nothing gets you going faster than a cup of joe and "BOING BOING BOING" on the head phones.
